- About Me Uttam Kumar Thangiah: I'm more than half a century old, a Malaysian-born Indian, Tamil is my mother tongue (my father's too), went to film school in India (FTII Pune); met some of the most wonderful people there; still struggling to make that slippery as an eel first film, feel like a fish out of water in my home country (I am always reminded of Milan Kundera's LIFE IS ELSEWHERE), feel very much at home in Chinatown Kuala Lumpur (probably one of the best watering holes on earth) drinking beer among strangers and travellers; single and not into marriage at all (dread sharing my life with someone, leave alone my bed); miss greatly my dearest friend Sona (Gold too was his heart) who decided to take the early boat to the next world in November 2005; No!
